Independence Day Shot Glasses

With Independence Day just around the corner, many people are gearing up for their backyard celebrations. Shot glasses are a great party favor for Independence Day because when there’s a party, there’s usually drinking invloved! Here is a fun way to present our 3 ounce shot glasses at your Independence Day party.

Ingredients
Red
- 1 (6 ounce) package red gelatin (Any red flavor)
- 1 cup raspberries, strawberries or cherries (Optional)
- 1/2 cup light rum
- 3 1/2 cups water

White
- 1 (1 ounce) box unflavored gelatin (4 Envelopes)
- 1 cup light rum (Coconut rum works well too!)
- 3/4 cup coconut milk
- 2 1/4 cups pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup sugar

Blue
- 1 (6 ounce) package Berry Blue gelatin mix
- 1 cup blueberries (Optional)
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 3 1/2 cups water

All alcohol is optional. Enjoy responsibly!

Directions
Blue and Red
Start by boiling a teakettle of water. When boiling, pour two cups of the water into a heat-resistant bowl or clear pitcher. Add the gelatin powder and stir until dissolved. Add 1 1/2 cold water and 1/2 cup Vodka or Rum (or more, to taste). Pour into shot glasses. If you are using fruit, add one piece of fruit to each glass – it will float.

White
Start heating the fruit juices to a low simmer in a saucepan. Pour the rum (room temperature) into a large bowl and sprinkle gelatin over it. Try to avoid clumping if you can. Let it sit, then add hot fruit juice while stirring with a fork. Do not use a beater, it will be too fluffy. Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

More Options
- Can be individual one-color treats or layered
- Try using cool whip instead of white gelatin
- Add red, white and blue star shaped cake sprinkles on the top
- Stick a paper flag in each treat
